Designs new installations or alterations with the objective of minimizing material wastage, ensuring accessibility for future maintenance, and preventing the creation of unattractive, unsafe, or unreliable wiring systems.
Ensures adherence to specified standards and local electrical regulations.
Cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and sets up electrical conduit.
Connects wires by removing insulation from terminal ends, securely joining or soldering the wires, and using tape or terminal caps as needed.
Connects wiring to lighting fixtures, appliances, and power equipment.
Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
Inspects, trouble shoots, and maintains electrical services-including, but not limited to-circuit breakers, feeders, control wiring, and transformers.
Repairs or replaces any electrical fixtures.
Assists on projects such as HVAC and refrigeration equipment, pumps, lights, aerators, etc.
Participates in the weekend “on-call” schedule and respond to calls in a timely and appropriate manner.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Completion of an Industrial Electrical Engineering certification program at a two-year college or technical school, coupled with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
